I started this my Sophomore year of college before I knew anything about geisha/geiko culture, but when I learned more and more about them, I was annoyed at what a stereotypical depiction of a geisha this was, so I put it away. But a couple weeks ago, I was struck by this sudden urge to pick up cross-stitching again, so I finished it. I got through three seasons of Star Trek thanks to this project!
My fingertips are shot, and even though it’s not really an accurate geisha, it’s still a really beautifully designed pattern. I love the metallic thread in it (even though it was a bitch to use).

Lovely!
