I HIGHLY recommend it. I loved the first one, but I think I almost loved the second one more. September is more grown up, and Valente deals with some more grown-up subject matter here. She deals with shadows and more shades of gray, and I think it really adds to the story. Plus, it is beautifully written. I highly recommend both of the Fairyland books.
I am currently reading Gone Girl, which is FASCINATING.
I’m also taking suggestions for beach reads. What should I take with me to the beach in two weeks?
My book, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Valente, came in yesterday. I have to pick it up at the book store!
I thought the book store would have this particular book since The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland just came out, but it didn’t. When I asked for the children’s lit book store lady to help me, she became intrigued by the story. She told me that now she has to order the book too! I wonder if she has any control over what books are in the children’s lit section, because maybe they will finally stock The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland and more people will be able to enjoy the story.
